n (1280 x 906 px) - 1

A shady yard doesn’t have to be a gardening challenge. With the right native plants, it can become a thriving habitat for birds, butterflies, and other wildlife.

Join Kristy Bible, founder of Decatur Community Habitat, and Tamara Jones, Wylde Center Lead Greenspace Coordinator at Hawk Hollow garden on October 18, for a hands-on Learn Wylde workshop all about bringing more native plants—and more life—into shady landscapes.

Kristy and Tamara will share some of their favorite native plants for shade and offer practical ideas for incorporating them into an existing landscape. You’ll learn how native plants support a healthier ecosystem and leave with inspiration you can put to work in your own yard.

Then, put what you’ve learned into practice with a hands-on planting activity at Hawk Hollow Garden.

After class, participants can visit the Wylde Plant Market for help choosing plants for their own gardens and receive a $5 coupon toward a plant purchase.
