Twist and Sprout Workshop
February 9 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
Twist and Sprout Workshop!
Prep for spring time with Wylde Center! Join us with Steampowered Kids’ Robert Hill at Edgewood Community Garden on Sunday, February 9 from 12 PM to 1:30 PM for the Twist and Sprout Workshop!
Recommended for ages 7+, participants of this workshop will be introduced to the life cycle of plant and then engage in two hands-on projects by making their own seed paper and sprout houses.
What is seed paper? Seed paper is a special eco-friendly paper made from recycled materials embedded with seeds. When you plant the paper in a pot of soil or outside in a garden, the seeds in the paper germinate and grow into plants.
What are sprout houses? Sponge sprout houses are the perfect way to combine engineering and biology into one awesome project perfect for all kids (and grown ups!). Through the construction of their sponge houses, kids will learn about how seeds germinate and even take home their masterpiece to watch the seeds continue to grow!
Registration for this workshop is $15 per child for non-members and $10 per child for members (use code WYLDEMEMBER to receive discount). Parents are encouraged to drop-off their child but are also invited to stick around, if interested. Space is limited, so if parents are interested in sticking around, please let us know!
Twist and Sprout Workshop is part of the Wylde Family Series. Wylde Family Series is presented by Intown Beth Ann LLC.
