Garden Book Club: Braiding Sweet Grass for Young Adults

The “Braiding Sweetgrass for Young Adults Garden Book Club” welcomes all high school students for 12-weeks of learning at Wylde Center’s Oakhurst Garden and discussion of the book’s topics.

At each gathering, we will begin with engaging in thoughtful group discussion and sharing ideas and perspectives from the week’s readings. We will then move into a garden activity that focuses on personally experiencing the book’s lessons in action. The final meeting of the Garden Book Club series will culminate in a shared garden harvest and meal.

Social and emotional learning is at the forefront of this book and club, and students’ creativity is welcome to influence the direction of discussions and activities.

We will gather weekly at Wylde Center’s Oakhurst Garden on Wednesdays at 4-5:30pm beginning March 1.
